Narendra Modi Sikkim Visit: Gangtok, Sikkim – May 27, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Sikkim on May 29 to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s statehood. The grand event will be held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, according to an official release from the Sikkim government.

Traditional Attire Requested for Attendees
As part of the cultural significance of the event, the invitees have been requested to wear traditional attire and be seated by 8:30 AM in the western gallery of Paljor Stadium. This directive applies to officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, and equivalent staff from various state departments, PSUs, and central government agencies based in Gangtok.
Mandatory ID Cards and Security Guidelines
All attendees must carry valid government ID cards for entry. The Home Department has issued strict instructions prohibiting the entry of bags, polythene packets, and single-use plastic bottles inside the stadium premises, emphasizing the importance of maintaining security and cleanliness during the high-profile event.
Department Heads Instructed to Ensure Full Attendance
The state government has directed all Heads of Departments and Secretaries to ensure the presence of their respective officials and staff at the event. The Golden Jubilee marks a significant milestone in Sikkim’s integration with the Indian Union, and full participation is encouraged to celebrate this historic occasion.
Traffic Restrictions and School Closures Announced
To facilitate the smooth conduct of the program during Narendra Modi’s visit to Sikkim, the state administration has announced the temporary closure of government offices and schools in Gangtok on May 29. Additionally, vehicular movement will be restricted in certain parts of the city as part of the security arrangements.
