Tamil Nadu has officially commenced the online registrations for applications for veterinary courses starting today, 26 May 2025. Students across the state who aspire to build a career in veterinary sciences can now apply online for various undergraduate programs offered under Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS).
Veterinary Colleges and Available Seats
There are seven veterinary colleges operating under TANUVAS, located in:
- Chennai
- Namakkal
- Tirunelveli
- Orathanadu
- Salem Thalaivasal
- Udumalpet
- Theni Veerapandi
These colleges offer a 5.5-year B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) program. A total of 660 seats are available for this course.
B.Tech Courses in Allied Fields
In addition to veterinary science, students also have the option to apply for specialized B.Tech programs:
- Food Technology (40 seats) at the College of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduveli, Tiruvallur
- Dairy Technology (20 seats) at the same college
- Poultry Production Engineering (30 seats) at the Mathigiri College of Poultry Production and Management, Hosur
Each B.Tech course spans 4 years of full-time study.
Online Registration Process
The online registrations for applications for veterinary courses including B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.Tech programs, began at 10 AM on 26 May 2025. Interested and eligible students can submit their applications through the official website:

Last date for application submission is 20 June 2025, by 5 PM.
Special Notes for NRI and Foreign Applicants
Candidates who fall under the following categories:
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
- Children of NRIs
- Foreign nationals
- Candidates sponsored financially by NRIs or foreigners

Selection Criteria
The selection of candidates will be based on their marks obtained in the Class 12th board examinations. There will be no separate entrance test.
Furthermore, 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for students from Tamil Nadu Government Schools, ensuring inclusive educational opportunities.
